Seriously though, why does this band have a thread on here? It's just a breeding ground for negativity, especially from posters like me.

I have not heard much of them, but I hate most HIM fans I have come across, so I have always assumed that they were terrible. Plus, all the kids from high school that liked them were the same kids that liked crappy Nu Metal, another reason I never game them a chance.

An okay band. Dark light was a very good album. I've not bothered with their other stuff.

I think theyre actually pretty good. When i first got theyre Love MEtal album i did not like theyre style at all. It was new to me and i was like **** this sucks! But then i got into more music and now i kno alot about genres and about different sounds and basically more informed about music and i gave them a try again and got addicted to theyre album. Its pretty good stuff. I like funeral of hearts sad creepy unique tone that ive never heared in a band before and the whole style of theyre music. Pretty good. ALtho wings of a butterfly got overplayed mad quick and got sick of it fast lol but theyre whole Love Metal album is pretty good. I like Funeral of hearts, The Sacrament, Endless Dark, Sweet Pandimonium and for some reason i liked the last song The Path alot lol. Anyone concidering listening to them i would recommened you to check em out with an open mind. pretty good lol

Isn't HIM considered Gothic-rock? I used to listen to them, but I was never aware they were ever labeled straight up "rock." I'm not too much into Gothic-rock, but from what I've read it is lyrically very different. They sing more about love and pain (a bit emo) than about drugs and sex.

However, I concur. Mushy, nonetheless.

Agreed. From "rock" there are a lot of sub categories as well. HIM is Gothic-rock. They all have their own differences, but rock is exactly how you defined it. Standing up for your rights!
