Speaking of cameras, this asshole security guard told my dad to put away his "camera" at Bob Dylan in November. But get this - it was a Palm Zire 22, on which he was writing down the setlist.

Most of the bootlegs I used to buy in the early 90s were made in Italy because it was perfectly legal under their licensing laws at the time and the independent record store I used to use back then used to display them openly & I don't think he ever got prosecuted for it.

Hmm yeah this is kind of what I was getting at. I dont know the law so I don't really know how it works but as i understand it it's illegal to SELL bootlegs but its unlikely you'd ever get prosecuted for it.

Personally I like to use the net to download bootlegs and they are all fan to fan free downloads.
