Favorite Metal Band with Female Vocals

OK..if this thread already exists, I`m sorry...not gonna look for it to bump it up. And if this is a first...for surely it had to come up sometime. I am always looking for more metal bands headed by woman. Not necessarily do i like the operatic vocals like Lacuna Coil or Nightwish...but here are my favs:

1. Arch Enemy
2. Straight Line Stitch
3. Orphan Hate
4. Bloodshoteye
5. The Agonist

Judging by your list this may not be your cup of tea but i throw this album on every now and then.

'LEFT HAND SOLUTION' - 'THORNS'

arch enemy, the agonist, and nightwish are my fav metal bands that i've come across with female singers. kittie has some pretty good stuff to. their last album was great musically but i wished they would have had more screaming on it. a friend of mine just suggested a few female fronted bands to check out. i haven't had a chance to check all of them yet but you might find some interesting. bloodflowerz, after forever, stolen babies, and amberian dawn.

The Gathering
Midnatsoll
Ambeon

are a couple of mine and who can forget the classics:

Girlschool
Warlock
Phantom Blue.

Virgin Black

Girlschool...Jesus Christ. Theres a band I haven't thought about for years.

Apparantly *I* can forget the classics.

Girlschool are bitchin' . Warlock are cheesy euro metal and Phantom Blue were a big hair Hard Rock 80's band but i like them!

decadere-corvo 01-18-2009 11:45 AM

Aesma Daeva, Pale Forest, Xandria, After Forever, Tristania, Wartanas, Echoes of Eternity, Delain, Battlelore, Epica, Madder Mortem, The Sins of Thy Beloved.

Deadlock is good as well. The screaming vocals are male, but the clean vocals are female...it's a pretty good mix.

I'm an Eths fan.

Arch Enemy -Their vocalist puts on such a great performance. And she totally breaks barriers with her vocal style. When they first came out there wasn't as many female vocalists doing that style. She's definitely made an impact.

I'm amazed that no one has mentioned In This Moment - with Maria Brink on lead vocals.

So far, they've released 2 albums - Beautiful Tragedy, ( a classic if you're into the screaming stuff), and The Dream which shows off Maria's melodic vocals to perfection.:yikes:

They're nothing particuarly original and the girl looks like a bit of a tw*t. But for some reason I'm quite looking forward to seeing them in August....

My favorite is Dark Moor when they had Elisa Martin.Simone Simons and "Mari" provide some of the best accompanying female vocals on Kamelot's Epica and The Black Halo records.I really like After Forever and Within Temptation -- both quality. I would also recommend Elfonia, whose violinist/vocalist Marcela Bovio performed on Ayreon's The Human Equation.

Otep Shamaya will always be a favorite of mine; her lyrics, her message, and the music itself is all so beautiful.
I also like the vocalist of The Agonist.

Hmm, I don't know too many to be honest. Probably Arch Enemy, Nightwish and Lacuna Coil.

I'd like that song so much more if the keyboardist ****ed off

Epica is kind of good. I usually don't really listen to gothic but their lead singers voice is just.. well.. Epic.
And Deadlock is nice beauty and the beast styled band. And they manage to carry it out perfectly.

Sljslj 06-22-2010 04:30 AM

just found this band called HolyHell, some amazing gothic-ish vocals. Singer's name is Maria Breon.

Tristania and epica

Wormie 07-29-2010 05:42 PM

Arch Enemy and The Gathering with Anneke. Although, the new vocalist is also great.

Raust 07-31-2010 03:45 PM

Thor's Hammer, so brutal!

TheGame2k2 08-06-2010 07:33 PM

I've always enjoyed Lacuna Coil

Mikey13 11-09-2010 07:06 AM

In this Moment, The Agonist, Crucified Barbara, Porcelain and the Tramps (Y)

Suspiria 12-31-2010 05:30 PM

Battlelore are amazing!

Bushidosniper 01-01-2011 02:22 PM

Idk why but i can't stand female death vocals.

Although Arch Enemy is good, and I recall an In Flames song with female vocals and that was really good
