Pig Destroyer

Any thoughts on their new cd? I can't decide whether or not to get it. I'm a fan but it seems like it might be a greatest hits collection.

David Frost 12-07-2004 07:34 PM

buy it. it cant be more that 10 dollars and it will probably be one of the best releases this year...

besides my band of course!

itchytasty 12-08-2004 03:54 PM

"Natasha" makes it all more than worth getting.

riseagainstrocks 12-08-2004 06:38 PM

nifty. My friend picked it up and I dig. I'm gonna get it on my way back from the flickerflame show this weekend.

Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb

Pig Destroyer's new album is out, and they're better than ever. Check it out, it won't disappoint.

Its just "Pig Destroyer". Sick album art.

GravitySlips 06-28-2007 05:25 PM

can someone upload this to megaupload/mediafire or something?

sleepy jack 06-28-2007 05:29 PM

Megaupload, uploading new albums on mediafire is a bad idea they get taken down fast.

Bane of your existence 06-29-2007 01:14 AM

Can't wait to hear this stuff.

beat yr own KID 06-30-2007 11:43 AM

Good album. It's no Prowler in the Yard though. :)

lesssalt 06-30-2007 02:03 PM

I haven't heard the new album. My ISP seems to be blocking and throttling everything and I don't even live in Cuba or China, but Prowler in the Yard is freakin classic!

The Unfan 06-30-2007 02:21 PM

It sounds like just another Pig Destroyer release. Not really impressive, but good enough to warrant a listen.

jackhammer 01-09-2009 06:24 PM

Old thread I know but Phantom Limb is still getting repeated listens well over a year after release. One of my favourite Metal albums ever and before u all start with the genre crap..I don't care. It has it's roots in Metal and deserves props.

The sound just after 55 secs....Wow!:

Piss Me Off 01-09-2009 06:30 PM

Heavy hitting yet accesible enough for grindcore newbies like me, quite an achievement!

Janszoon 01-09-2009 07:29 PM

Phantom Limb is a great album. I have to admit that I like Terrifyer better but Phantom Limb is still really good.

jackhammer 04-24-2009 12:58 PM

I'm just listening to Prowler In The Yard for the first time. These guys are so damn awesome. How they can remain really heavy and still intense is what I like about them. I really can't make my mind up as to what is my favourite album now :(

almauro 04-24-2009 02:23 PM

The precision, skills and creatively these guys have is just pure entertainment enjoyment. PD's musicianship ranks with the best, and how Scott Hull achieves such a sludgey low-end, eliminating the need for a bass player, is mystifying to me. As far as albums, after being blown away by Prowler which at the time I thought was the best grindcore album ever, topping Terrorizer, Brutal Truth, Nasum, Napalm Death, I was even more blown away after hearing Terrifyer. That album is a nuclear explosion. Phantom is also excellent, I particularly like the 2nd half which gets into longer more groovier songs, but Terrifyer is the bomb.

Gareth Brown 04-24-2009 02:46 PM

Best grindcore band without questioning. Is it Scott Hull who does Agoraphobic Nosebleed as well? Another great band.

The Cat 04-26-2009 12:47 PM

Excellent good solid album i was really impressed with it. Very Well structured i will have to check out their earlier releases.
