Default The Jellyfish Thread

Yes, talk about this fine, unappreciated powerpop band from the '90s.

I personally am sad that there will never be a reunion. Hell, I'd settle for some Andy Sturmer solo stuff because the dude has an awesome voice. If only just to hear him sing "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" one more time.

I don't know if I'd call them unappreciated, they were everywhere at the time.
I always thought they were too gimmicky, Redd Kross did this stuff 100 times better and got nowhere near the attention this band did.

I remember that band. Had about a half-year of MTV popularity, and then I never heard or saw anything about Jellyfish again. Was okay, like The Rembrandts. Being "powerpop," I think this is more a subject for the "Pop" sub-forum.

I don't know much about them, except for the fact I would get Jellyfish mixed up with The Flaming Lips...well only because the latter did the song She Don't Use Jelly.

I don't see the need to second-guess the OP's decision to place this thread in the Rock & Metal section. Jellyfish's music is described as an Indie and Power Pop, but just because the word "Pop" is part of "Power Pop" doesn't make it strictly "Pop" & therefore warranting it to be place in the Pop sub-forum. Besides, they didn't have many hits. I don't know if they even charted an number one hit.

Power pop is a popular musical genre that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American pop and rock music.
