In Sorte Diaboli - Dimmu Borgir

Rust In Peace - Megadeth(Possibly their new one......I have three songs from it and they sound pretty heavy)

Ride The Lightning - Metallica

I'm pretty sure that ...And Justice for all is the softest Metallica album I've ever heard.

^But not nearly as big of a failure as some of the albums that followed it...

In my opinion, Hell Awaits by Slayer is the heaviest.

Ire Works - Dillinger Escape Plan is the heaviest album I own I think. I used to be a big metal 'fan' but lost all my music about a year ago and now am much more happier with the new musical knowledge I have gained. Ire Works is fantastic so I got it back.

I've recently gotten into Bloody Panda. I've never really gotten into much Doom Metal before, but they did it in a way that kept me interested.

Really liked that Gojira track as well, definitely going get some of their albums.

This depends on the definition of heavy.

Balls out brutal - Anything by Meshuggah, A lot of Gojira, Particularly the very aptly titled 'Heaviest Matter of the universe', and 'Wolf Down the Earth'

Heavy feeling, but not heavy sounding - a lot of AIC, a lot of pink floyd, and a LOT of Tool songs. The kind of heavy that isn't brutal, but by the time you finish the album its weighing you down with its epic dreary heavyness.

Flat out heavy, outside of a rock context -
Venetian snares - Heavy, brutal. electronic. A man on a mission to destroy the drum machines of the earth.

nova viator - Ambient, dark, heavy feeling. Like a chillout album set to evil.
