Hmm

Radiohead (the use, or non-use of traditional contemporary song patterns/chords/non-chords)
The Beatles (both bands are very psychedelic and experimental especially beatles later works when they discovered dope)
Pink Floyd (the progressiveness)
Tool (lyric-wise, as well as Radiohead)
Muse (just their sheer grandness)

plus Jeff Buckley and Andrew Bird, but they arent bands. Its mostly Beatles and Radiohead however, though Muse is my favourite band

Dave Matthews- for lyrical and guitar purposes.
The Police- All I have to say is Stewart Copeland.
The Beatles- They Started the music in which I really listen to.
Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder- His voice is what I'd like mine to be.
Nirvana- The chill, yet mean vibe they set off is basically what I am like.

I'm not going to do bands because I didn't REALLY start liking "bands" until about 8th grade, and by then I was already into music.

Jennifer Lopez - Don't give me your BS, you know she can dance. And she worked her ass off to get where she is now.
Amy Lee - Don't give me your BS, you know she can sing.
My band teacher - He accepted me into the band even though I didn't know the song I was supposed to play for the audition. He saw the fire in my eyes and wanted it to be there for the rest of my life.
The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps - In Marching Band, the Cadets were always used as an example. I wanted to be a member of the Cadets.
My parents - As soon as they saw I was into music, they did everything the could afford for me to play. Rented the flute. Bought the six-hundred dollar percussion set. Helped with everything for Marching Band. Drove me everywhere. Helped with my guitar. Bought my mp3 player. Tried to get me lessons, but couldn't afford them.

Thats well said, AwwSugar.

Jimmy Page may not have had the cleanest player when it came to skill, but he put his all into it. Watching some of his live performances I could see that. He would sweat. Alot. He put all his effort into it. And sure, EVH may have played faster and such, but he seems to me like he never put any soul into it. He was just in it for the sex, money and fame. Page wasn't.

My parents helped too. They realized my love for music, and I'm still 13 so they still influence me. My dad the most. He bought me my Epiphone SG and my amp. I don't take lessons, I taught myself.

Also is my friend Mitchell. He's a drummer in a local band, an incredible one at that. I don't drum. But his dedication his band's music inspired me to be dedicated to making my own music.

I also realized that music is an orgasm to the ears, and how incredible it would feel to be able to make my own.

Finally all my friends who have told me to not give up and keep going. I got frustrated trying to master basic open chords when I first started on my acoustic. They told me to keep going and that even the best, Jimmy Page, BB King, David Gilmour, all of them, started at the same point I was at too.

I love you, my friends.
