ok back in black has no right to be considered a greatest rock song or w/e the hell this is supposed to be but the thing is i only see the same songs or you ppl are just saying led zepplin songs, don't get me wrong i love led zepplin and have a HUGE amount of respect for their music and talent being as involved with music as i am :band: and courtney love? no she's just a complete whore! you ppl need to actually need to listen to the MUSIC bhind the vocals which seems to happen alot today like what happens w/ good charlotte no musical talent but y do ppl like them itz because they like the vocals for sum reason ( i thnk they totally suck ) but they don't take into consideration the guitar riffs or the fact that there's no REAL guitar solos no talent once so ever :bringit: and those are the kind of bands who suck out my will to live  |

Its a troll tactic in most cases where the information in the OP is no longer relevent. Like WoW for example. I find a post from 2 years back when the OP was relevent, respond like it was written today and see how many people I can fool into either A. screaming at the OP with me or B. complaining that its a necro-post. But its yours to use. |

Im not a big fan of beck, his song 'Im A Loser' was more unique (to me) in the way it was written, and far from being one of 'The' greatest rock songs. I know its to late now, but I will be sure and read up on some of the post from this thread. Sincerely, The Necro-Poster. :) |

Aldo Nova is another band from Canada. YouTube - ALDO NOVA - Fantasy |
Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Maybe it's overrated, but it's still pretty epic. And epochal, in a way. I'm surprised it wasn't posted here already. (Or at least, I didn't see it in my quick skim ;>.>) The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want See above. Just take the "epochal" part out. |

But one of my favorite by them if not 'The Favorite' is this one from their 1994 album Voodoo Lounge, some of the best Rock/Funk/Blues rythm guitar to date, that I like personally. YouTube - Rolling Stones - Love Is Strong |
2112 by Rush but thats kinda epic. Comfortably Numb, More than a Feeling, Kashmir, Holy Diver, and Free Bird are some favourites of mine.
|
Head East
The band achieved success in the Midwest during the 1970s, but fell into obscurity in the following decades.
YouTube - * if you knew me better * HEAD EAST |
Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral
Megadeth - Symphony Of Destruction The Devin Townsend Project - Heaven Send Blue Oyster Cult - Burnin' For You Rush - Tom Sawyer |
A few come to mind.
Pink Floyd - The Nile Song The Who - I Can't Explain MC5 - Kick Out The Jams Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown The Cult - Wild Flower |
The Who
I always associated this single with the Vietnam war era, as so with the single Gimme Shelter by the Stones also, for obvious reasons.
I believe 'Wont Get Fooled Again' was the theme song used by the New York Firefighters after 9/11. Daltrey,Townshend, Entwistle, and Moon were outstanding together as a band musically. YouTube - Wont Get Fooled Again Also from the same album 'Who's Next' released in 1971, their single 'Behind Blue Eyes' has some of my favorite drum work to date, Keith Moon is just (as always) awsome on this one too. YouTube - The Who - Behind Blue Eyes (Original Version) |
Get ready for the most predictable list yet...
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen Layla - Clapton American Pie - Don McLean Hotel California - Eagles Renegade - Styx Jessica - Allman Brothers Band Piano Man - Billy Joel War Pigs - Black Sabbath Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult Foreplay / Long Time - Boston My Best Friend's Girl - The Cars Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - Crosby, Stills & Nash Misirlou - **** Dale Riders on the Storm - The Doors Frankenstein - Edgar Winter Don't Bring Me Down - ELO Radar Love - Golden Earring Sweet Child O' Mine - GnR Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden Fire - Jimi Hendrix Life's Been Good - Joe Walsh Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones Tom Sawyer - Rush Rock You Like a Hurricane - Scorpions Hot for Teacher - Van Halen Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison Behind Blue Eyes - The Who |
Maybe not the greatest, but here's what I've got on my "Most Played", copied and pasted from my iTunes:
Citadel - The Rolling Stones Sing This All Together - The Rolling Stones In Another Land - The Rolling Stones 2000 Man - The Rolling Stones She's A Rainbow - The Rolling Stones Strange Days - The Doors Rocks Off - The Rolling Stones Love Street - The Doors In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly Stand Up And Shout - Dio Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan Break On Through (To The Other Side) - The Doors Ogre Battle - Queen Miss You - The Rolling Stones American Heartbeat - Survivor It's The Singer Not The Song - Survivor My Old Kentucky Home (Turpantine and Dandelion Wine) - Three Dog Night Stairway To The Stars - Blue Öyster Cult Flaming Telepaths - Blue Öyster Cult Goin' Through the Motions - Blue Öyster Cult Just Like A Woman - Bob Dylan Ballad Of A Thin Man - Bob Dylan Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream Cotton Fields - Creedence Clearwater Revival Touch Me - The Doors |
After listing all those "Satanic" songs, you forgot to include the best song on the album.
|
I've always thought about making a personal list but never actually have. The one song I would build on: Low Spark of High Heeled Boys - Traffic
