Well he didn't specify on what he wanted. He said no cookie monster vocals with more lead guitar...um that leaves a lot of bands.

Honestly it sounds like most mainstream alt-rock radio metal would do the trick. It's hard to say exactly what you're looking for as you seem to love and hate different parts of this song.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Oh metal fans. If they aren't telling you how explitive awesome their favorite bands are they aren't saying anything.

You're the one who asked for suggestions, if you already know what all Metal Fans are like, why'd you ask?

I didn't. =D

I sort of knew this would just poke the beehive, so to speak.

My point is, if you came into any forum of music I listen to I'd be able to listen to something and say "yeah you might try this."

Wow Big3, still have your MB erection and posting regularly

Mad Props

In case you need a gentle handjob of your ego; I always liked you and kind of knew that you'd never run out of intelligent things to say

I was actually going to suggest possibly Deftones. Not because they sound anything like the song in that video, they don't, but it's fairly accessible and there vocals aren't cookie monster-like.

I'm not sure if I ought to be insulted or flattered.

Sidewinder. I like you. I even like Meg-x there, but you guys are ****ing killing me.

Just as a disclaimer, I think only the mentally undeveloped listen (still) to nu-metal. I like the deftones and think they're far enough away from nu-metal to be considered good, but I want the backing band to be like...

Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian. I'd prefer not to choose some Alice-in-Chains cover acts made good.

not cookie monster =/= not metal. I just would prefer it if...

Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Dimmu Borgir

Could sing without sounding like my balls were in their throat.
