Static-X is no longer?

Static-X Breaking Up? Oh No! | Metal Insider

Wayne sounds like he's being an asshole, but I see where he's coming from. I will deinitely be checking out the solo album.

mr dave 07-23-2010 05:17 AM

I don't see how he's a megalomaniac. He's just telling it how it is and he has good reason to be upset about the situation.

Static X stopped being relevant like 10 years ago, why is this news?

Because it's good news.

boo boo 07-31-2010 03:06 AM

Why be happy that they broke up? Why be anything other than indifferent? I didn't know anybody had to put up with this band anymore.

Unless they hang out with a lot of neanderthal frat boys in which case they should blame their inability to attract decent friends and not Static X.

Freebase Dali 07-31-2010 03:08 AM

Good news in the grand scheme of humanity. Doesn't have to do with anything specific to me.

boo boo 07-31-2010 03:13 AM

I prefer the old nu metal bands stick around otherwise there's gonna be a revival.

Freebase Dali 07-31-2010 03:15 AM

Of nu old nu metal bands?

Sljslj 07-31-2010 05:13 AM

Why so much hate for Static? What exactly is it that yall don't like about them?

They were relevant?

In this thread: Posters attempt snark with rehashed one-liners.

Edit: Alright so I went back to read that article after my pissy little line up there.

As far as the music is concerned, good for him. But likes like "I have the hottest wife in the world" is over the line. I also think the fact that she's a porn star illustrates his level of brain functioning. This closer was also a gem:

Quote:

He also reveals that bassist Tony Campos is definitely out of the band, offering a possible reason (“I think he’s jealous ’cause I have the hottest wife in the world. Honestly, that’s what I really think.”). So if Static-X does continue on, it’s up to the “sole creative force” (as Mr. Static refers to himself as) to move forward. Meanwhile, his forthcoming solo project, Pighammer, will have former porn star Tera Wray, or “the hottest wife in the world,” playing bass.
You're going to put your wife in on the ****ing project? Slick tip here, Charlie. You could at least compromise with your old band members. You've already showed your hand and you've got no pussy control. I look forward to the next Tera Wray album.

I think he's a megalomaniac cause he seems self involved and seems think of himself as the best thing since sliced bread. And he's taking all the credit for everything the band has ever made. Humble much. I feel sorry for the other band members, no matter how much truth there is in what he says.
Its lsd - lead singer disease....

The attempted cool is just RADIATING off of this thread...

I liked all their stuff up to Cannibal. The final album, Cult Of Static, was just awful. Machine was their best work imo, closely followed by Start A War.

TheGame2k2 08-06-2010 08:03 PM

I really didn't care much for Static-X but it's always sad when a band breaks-up.

PossessedRabbit 08-10-2010 05:59 PM

Saw it coming.

Thrice 08-12-2010 08:11 PM

I saw this band during the Machine tour, and had not heard of them before. This was not the type of music I was into at the time, but was still blown away by their performance. Although their tunes don't hit that spot in my ear, they still were a great band to see and it is unfortunate I won't be able to see them again.

The_Mop 08-17-2010 06:39 PM

Saw them at Download in 08, thought 'heh, I'd entirely forgotten about these guys...' then saw another gig not long after. Was really awesome to see them after I'd basically forgotten about them for many years, was a bit like stepping back into the past.
