I'd actually put Metallica first, but I voted for Anthrax, because I like them almost as much as I like Metallica, and I knew they'd be at the bottom of the poll, unfortunately.

Metallica. They are the most melodic. Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax sound to heavy.

Anthrax is heavier that Metallica? Have you ever actually listened to any Anthrax?

I actually really enjoy Stomp 442 as well. I know it's most fan's least favorite, but I feel like it's a good energy record at the very least. Bare is also a great, great song.

Megadeth for me, and it's not close. This isn't to trivialize the importance of the others, they are all excellent. It's just what suits me. I prefer Mustaine's vocals and guitar approach and feel the songs hold up very well. There's also the volume of good work that comes into play. I'd say Metallica has 3 great albums, and a couple good ones, everything after the Black album is horrendous save for Death Magnetic which was better, but had horrible production. Every record released by Megadeth was good for a decade. Cryptic Writings was where they fell off. They've had some notably good songs but no killer albums since. Of their newer stuff The World Needs A Hero and Thirteen are their best efforts. I think the body of work between 1985 and 1994 is impressive enough to give them the nod.

Their last good album was Risk, which is surprisingly phenomenal, and everything after that has been Dave Mustaine desperately trying to grasp for some sort of fanbase.

Well there went your credibility.

Maybe when you're older you'll be able to appreciate music that you feel might harm your credibility.

I already do (see sig). Risk is still a flat chicken soup flavoured soda, which says a lot about your taste if you enjoy drinking it.
