Good call, very subtle use there.

Haha, I was kind of wondering when playing it...where are the samples? I was expeting to hear a lot, then I realized you must have been appreciating the subtle use. I guess not! :p:
Anyway, "Lust Chance", yes. Love the heavy breathing (porn?) samples. At least I think that's the track. Is that the one that had the John Candy "doh!" sample? At work and don't have the whole track at my disposal...just played the 30-sec clip on Amazon. |

The John Candy one is on "Scrapyard" I think. |
Home and playing Lust Chance now...truly great. I love the sinister porn feel to it...and this sample, with the first part sounding like the woman is scared, then immediately horny. :D
"So what else do you want me to say? Hmm, what else?" And you're right about Scrapyard & John Candy. Not really a "doh" as much as a "ugh!" or something. This album is loaded with samples that are often far more subtle than the horror movie samples used in the earlier albums. Such good stuff. I need some acid. |

Another band that I don't think has been mentioned, that is more "rock", is Sublime. Now I'm no longer that big a fan, but the album 40oz. to Freedom is pretty fun and uses some great samples on certain tracks.
"54-46 That's My Number / Ball and Chain" (Toots & The Maytals cover/adaptation) "Lets Go Get Stoned" ("damn...now lick my balls" + "I said suck the motherfucker you're biting it, shit!" ) |
