Guano Apes

Anyone heard of these? A female fronted band from Germany and whilst not wholly original, they have a beefed up 80's rock sound that borders on Metal. Very commercial and derivative but they are very good at what they do and lead singer Sandra Nasić has attitude to boot.

The band split for a few years whilst Nasic had a child but they reformed in 2009 and I find them perfect, uncomplicated walkman music.

Yeah I bought this album when it came out. Lords of the Boards was a pretty good track too. And Maria.

Yes, they do have a commercial sound, but they're just so damn like-able and listen-able. This one's my fave track:

As always, thanks for the heads up on these guys Lee. :)

I have a friend who is obsessed with them. I used to listen to them back in high school, but not so much any more

Yep awesome we made a dirtbike video to this band song was open your eyes we didnt realise it was a chick singer till after we made it.

I'm not a big fan, but I certainly remember them. Aside from Open Your Eyes, I particularly remember Lord of the Boards as that song was really popular here. It probably still is up in the ski-slopes.

Wow...that's so lame. How'd you even find that?

Oh man, that is crazy. Maybe every time you make a post here, that guy posts a copy on that forum. Maybe you have a doppleganger!

Thanks for the post Jackhammer, that Big In Japan song especially was real good. Any particular album to start out with? edit: On second listen Rain is pretty good as well. Much different though, im guessing from another time period.
