Well in fairness a lot of my stuff is written beforehand. What I tend to do is write a few reviews a day but not post till some time later. So say day 1 I might write 3, post 1. Day 2, write 3 post none, backlog count is now 5 reviews. Day 3 write 3 post 1, count is now 7 albums. And so on.

But all that depends on how much time I have/what else I have to do/How tired I feel/ How much I give a **** about writing on a particular day/How much work I want to do and so on. Somedays I might write 1 review, other days none. Of course, I no longer make it a point to post every single day, so that gives me some leeway. Also remember I'm working from home, as it were, so I have a lot of spare time, and even then there are days when I don't get done as much as I would like.

It might seem like magic, but it ain't. Not until I capture that little review-writing journal pixie who's supposed to live at the bottom of my garden in an old tin bean can, and only comes out one day every sixteen months at --- ****! I just missed him! Again! :bonkhead:

Unoriented on Album-oriented rock?

Most of the radio I listened to in the 80's were FM stations focusing on AOR such as KFOG and KMEL (SF stations). So what's surprising to me is I've only heard of Asia and Journey from this list. Other than those two bands did the other bands on the lists get a lot of airplay on the east coast or something? 'Cause as far as I've heard thru the 80's they weren't playing them much if at all on the west coast.

Some interesting reviews of the albums and bands tho. Maybe I'll run across some of them some day and give them a listen.

I can assure you that Anteater is something of an AOR connoisseur, so it's no surprise that you might not know some of the lesser known bands.

It's just surprising to me that I never heard of them being exposed to so much AOR radio in the 70's and 80's. I don't listen to much mainstream radio today anymore because they are either all monotonously over-rotated classic rock or bubblegum pop oriented now.

Probably the most underrated AOR band.

If Raised on Radio is better than Escape and Frontiers, I'll have a great time with that album. I don't care what anyone says. Escape and Frontiers are both 9/10.

Most beautiful female rock singer of all time

I'll see your Fiona and raise you an Issa...

Good stuff. As for this thread: some of my list holds up, but I'm thinking it might need a fresh coat of paint.
