Default Top 5 Guitar/Keyboard Double Threats

The last episode of That Metal Show did a segment on keyboard players, which reminded me of a narrower idea I'd already had.

Who do you think are the best rock musicians who play both guitar (let's include bass) and keyboards on a regular basis? I think two names will come up often and hope to learn more. Actually, I meant to exclude those who regularly sing lead.

Okay, is this because most rock music fans don't care much for keyboards?

I can only think of three I'm confident are at least good on one of the instruments and okay at the other.

Eddie Van Halen (does he still play keyboards in concert?)
Howard Leese (Heart)
Michael Lardie (Great White)

Well, I can like a song for a variety of reasons, but I don't like songs because of technical proficiency on one or more instruments. As such, I don't pay attention to a particular bands ability to wank their instruments, and I certainly don't track individual members because of their ability to wank instruments.

So the question doesn't interest me, just as I'm not interested in debating who the best bassist or guitarist is. It's irrelevant to my enjoyment of music.

Holy crap it seems like I'm name dropping this band a whole hell of a lot lately but... I'm also going to ignore the no lead singing too because really, it's yet another instrument that gets incorporated into their mix.

All the awesome 70s photos of Geddy Lee with both his bass and his ridonkulous synth setup were way too big to post.

Well, he's the best at playing two instruments, but if lead singing is allowed, then all sorts of names (solo artists mostly) get in there.

John Paul Jones was excellent on both.

Lord and Blackmore as a tandem? That doesn't count. Apparently Blackmore plays keyboards, but probably not in Deep Purple or Rainbow.

Yes, John Paul Jones. His name crossed my mind when I was planning the thread. I suppose the excellent keyboard work on "All of My Love" alone is enough to prove his double talent.

Aw, I thought this was about best guitar player and keyboard player teams, like Buckethead and Travis Dickerson.
