Opinion = Cop Out
 

I was looking through the "Top 25 bands" thread and just cut right to page 5 cause im sick of looking at the prefunctory bands that seemingly "need" to be listed.

Well if you go to page 5 its mostly retorts to someone saying something to the effect of "blah blah blah my opinion, and you have yours."

Not only is your personal philosophy off-topic, but its a lame cop out as opposed to defending your position. Opinions are fine, and yes, no two opinions will be a carbon copy of one another, but if you refuse to defend your position against anyone who remotly critisizes it, then whats the point in holding the opinion in the first place. If you don't want people critisizing you then don't post an opinion, otherwise ignore it or defend it.

But reheating the same tired argument about how were all individuals and because of that we're all equally special, its pretty lame and it belongs in nursery school.

I implore you not to continue to post kindergarten philosophy on the boards, for your credibility and that of the boards.

kindergarten philosophy is hot. No, but really, I know what you mean. It gets very annoying reading two people reply back and forth of which band owns the other. Its ridiculous. You can't just force someone to agree with you if their taste doesn't match yours. So give it up, or die....

so you dont agree with him becuase you basically argued against wha he just said...ah, yes i think its annoying when you post your opinion then some arse bandit starts ridiculing your choice in bands. what can you reply to that?! "oh, well its better than your list" your talking about kindergarden- thats playschool talk.

Well traditionally when people say my list sucks, I ask them why and then they fire back with some more blather about opinion, which is why I hate the presence of the word on the boards.
