Heh. I think you may be right! :)

I had an opportunity to see them about this time last year and am still bummed I wasn't able to go.

Your not alone. I consider Relapse records a cornerstone in thrash at the moment. Sludge, stoner, i just call it kickass. Saw HOF at the Detroit Bar last year, Matt Pike tore the house down. Black Tusk also kicks severe ass.

I totally agree about Relapse. I think they're one of my favorite things about the city I live in.

I would love to see HOF. They are ****ing amazing. Just about everything the guys from Sleep touch is gold.

I bet Metallica is kicking themselves inviting them on their European tour because they kick Metallicas ass into the ground. Glad i saw them three times at small venues because their stock is going way up. I see arenas in their future.

It is debatable whether Gojira are strictly Thrash but they win hands down for me. I thought they were phenomenal on record and then I saw them live a few days ago and they were ridiculously good. Brilliant in fact.

They are probably seen as more of a technical Death metal band but I just had to push their name forward again! One of the best drummers I have ever born witness to hear and the best moshes I have ever been in to boot.

It would be so limiting to label Gojira as thrash, they are so much more! How does Progressive/Experimental Death Metal sound? Idk, but great band

I think of Gojira as a progressive metal outfit with a heavy death and groove metal influence with unique lyrical themes. Their best two albums are "Terra Incognita" and "From Mars to Sirius"

I haven't listened to much Gojira, but I saw them live with In Flames a while back. I actually thought that while musically they were excellent, they were kind of reserved on stage. In Flames totally smoked them.
