Journey is coming to my town but I just can't justify spending $200 for tickets when Steve Perry isn't even the front man anymore. Yeah, the new guy sounds pretty close but Steve Perry MADE that band. Anyone else agree?

I can't justify buying $200 tickets for ANY concert.

I saw them in Beaumont,Texas in last year or so, and they were very good live. The new vocalist is all over the stage. Night Ranger opened up for them. I dont know if the y do now or not? Journey id an awesome band to see live.

Steve Perry hasn`t been the front man for like 13 years now!!! So I wouldn`t fret over not seeing him.

Without doubt one of my all time favourite bands (with Steve Perry of course) Without him they`re just another rock band making a buck touring, sure the group are great musicians and really put on a show with all the classics, but without Perry as the vocalist they really lack something.

I was lucky to see them with Steve Perry in the 90`s and the power and feeling of his voice blew me away and according to people that saw the band in the 80`s he was even better then! I also saw them in 2006 with Jeff Soto as vocalist, basically he was the wrong type of vocalist for the group and even the drummer Dean Castronovo sung on a few of the songs and did a better job.

Are you kidding? They can play a two hour show, and almost every song has been on the charts. I admit, Steve Perry is the premier vocalist compared to Jeff Soto, but Soto is more than just an average vocalist. His stage performance/presence, is actually just as good as Steve Perry's was, if not even better than Perry in my opinion. Its worth seeing Journey just to be able to catch an appearance by Neal Schon alone.

Don't pay $200 for the concert. No concert is worth that.

However, the new singer is excellent, and as previously said, is an incredible frontman. He is all over the freaking place, all the time, and never loses his voice or runs out of breath. He has some serious chops, and sound awesome live.

+1.
No need to endorse that Live Nation, Clear Channel bullshit.
You could spend $200 in so many more awesome ways.

I paid close to that for Queen + Paul Rodgers, but my entire childhood was me loving Queen, Free, and Bad Company (because of my mom) so I feel that was justified.

I was also brought up to enjoy Steve Perry, not Journey in general. So no. I would not ****ing pay that for them.

That even more helps by giving substance to prove my theory that Bad Company was one of the most revered rock bands in this area of the northeastern states in the 70s. Ashland is only about 45 minutes from where I am located in Ohio, so..maybe there's something to it?
