Ah, Vio-lence. When the voices are being too loud and I need something to drown them out, they do quite nicely.

Has anyone been rude enough to post any Behemoth, Belphegor or Dying Foetus in here yet? Because if not, I might consider doing it since their music will drown out the sound of your veins popping.

^ Not the same as Vio-lence. They might be extreme metal bands, but their songs don't have the same frenzied mania that makes it sound like they're all about to have simultaneous mental breakdowns.

Ah, Carnivore. Not as ludicrous as Gwar, but they had much better albums. CARNIVORE!!!!!!!! I'M A MEAT EATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Batlord: you're right about the frenzy. Vio-lence certainly seems more committed. With the others, they are about proving something.
Behemoth is all about tearing bibles up in public to annoy the polish government, Belphegor is about provoking people with decency, and I don't know where to begin with Dying Foetus. However, I'll probably post something sooner or later because you have an interesting point and I want to be able to compare and contrast.

I've posted some Black Witchery earlier; as I described, they're Black Metal, and they're raw, but they've more in common with grindcore than Norsecore worship.



What I like about this particular song is there is, around 0:54, where the song is reduced to the riff for a moment.... and then the band somehow ups the tempo. So, the song is "faster (pause) fastest".

The riffs are atonal, chromatic, and seem juxtaposed to the frantic drumming. The vocals are excellent as well.

Progressing the genre's sound through regression.
