One of my absolute favourite albums. Hard to say if I like this one more than Journey To the End of the Night (2000), but either way the albums flow into each other perfectly. Definitely one of the most ambitious metal projects I've ever come across.

I'm a much bigger fan of the old school, primitive, raw DM than even the nineties DM bands and their technicality, and intricate song structures. They just didn't have the same vicious, malevolence of the late eighties bands like Obituary, Morbid Angel, and old school Death. This new band, from Norway of all places, fits the bill so perfectly that I can't help but feel that they were created just for me. Half the time they keep it at a doomy crawl, and when they do speed it up, it's never just to show you how well they can play their instruments. Thank you Obliteration, for giving me a world where I can sit and listen to old school death metal with my head in the sand where the forces of progression and musical evolution can't find me.

When will more bands be like Fleshcrawl and realize that just being fast does not make your music sound more brutal? Unless it's done just right, it just makes it sound like another noisy ass metal song. Glory to slow and doomy death metal!

This band sounds like they find it to be the greatest crime ever committed that they didn't get to be Slayer. Still better than 90% of the music I hear these days though.
