Listening to Blood of the Sun, a really cool Orange Goblin type stoner/doom band. Death ride is their newer album from 2008. If your into that kind music you will love it. Feel free to pm for a link as well.

That entire album is so good ^. Atom and Evil is probably my favorite. Granted the Heaven and Hell album from Sabbath is even better than this!

When it comes to Sodom, I'd say you also need to download Agent Orange. It's thrashier than Persecution Mania, which was somewhere in between early black metal and thrash.

I used to be massively into Arch Enemy, but due to changing musical tastes I now find them to be rather stale.

i've only heard the Liva era stuff and thought it was pretty tepid

the newer stuff is rather..... interesting

I've actually only heard the Gossow stuff, and I'd say it's not so much tepid, just...Carcass lite, I guess.

Why don't more DM bands sound like these guys?

^^to be fair, Carcass only made one album like that

they're not as good as the Heartwork album, but i wouldn't really say that Arch Enemy is THAT similar to them
