This actually sounds like the precursor to deathcore. Not that I imagine Despised Icon or Suicide Silence have ever even heard of this band, but there are definitely similarities. Of course, this song rapes anything those bands ever did.

Kickass sludge band! Nice to see another Acid Bath fan.

I think they're one of the best metal bands of the 1990s, it surprised me though, that they're not that well liked on the forum. If I remember rightly, this album came up once on "Metal Wars" and had more detractors than admirers.

They're on my "to listen" list. I listened to them a loooooooong time ago and didn't like them, but I think my musical tastes have matured enough so I'll like 'em now.

Vile is totally underrated. Savage as ****, and the production gives it a great noisy and chaotic feel that newer CC just doesn't have.

I think you're thinking of Eyehategod. They were on that battle and got creamed by Acid Bath if I remember correctly.

And then Acid Bath lost to Melvins, which I thought was some serious bs

This is the one I'm referring to, because the Acid Bath album was far superior to the chosen Melvins one, but most of the voters didn't agree with me.

I wish I had been paying attention. No Melvins album is as good as When the Kite String Pops. Metal aside, that Acid bath album is one of my all time favorite albums ever made.

Now I'm listening to it. Here's my maybe favorite song, "What Color is Death?"
