Probably going to check out Venom Inc (Tony Dolan fronting with Mantas and Abaddon) with Necrophagia when they come through town next month, missed them last time and heard they put on a pretty solid show

After listening to "Lords of Summer", I had to wash my ears out with good Metallica. I don't care if this is a cover, cause as much as I like Diamond Head their version is not one of the ten best metal songs of all time, unlike this. **** yeah.

I've heard of panopticon before, but never checked out their music.

To put it bluntly, I pretty much hate black metal. The instrumentation is just not for me. I like to joke that black metal riffs are three or four unique notes tremolo picked into oblivion. I've listened to every album anyone has said is essential black metal, and I've hated them all.

I like some stuff from the first wave and/or proto-black stuff though. This in particular.
