Wear Metal / Rock Shirts?
 

If so where do you get them? I'd say 75% of the time I get them at the shows. Used to get them off ebay but it went to crap a while back IMO. Recently If I do get them online its either from [links removed by mod, no advertising]

I live in NYC so there are no shortage of shops to get one, but I find buying them directly from the band's website is the best and usually that leads to discovering a parent site that carries tons of other bands' stuff as well.

ShirtKiller.com is also pretty great. Both sites have a killer selection of bands and shirts.

You can dig around on those to find a band you might be into but buying direct from specific bands is always the best and easiest to ensure quality and selection.

I get them from shows (I just got a Kingdom of Sorrow one) or order them from the band label's website (ordered a Sybreed shirt from Listenable yesterday). You can find Lamb of God shirts in Hot Topic if you are willing to risk your masculinity to go in there.

No, I must admit, I am not the sort of person to wear these sort of tops. However, I won't judge anyone who wears one.

I used to own a Ramones shirt but I hardly wore it.

I don't wear music shirts either. I'd like to have a Megadeth one in the future, but for now, I'm content with not wearing any.

Good thread. I don't wear rock T's either; just not my style; I'm a pretty conservative dresser.

I hate to say this, but I end up being judgmental of people who do wear them-- **if the person looks like they really don't know the band**

This really started when target and department stores started selling The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and Pink Floyd shirts. At that point, which was a few years ago, I started seeing 15-year old girls wearing Pink Floyd shirts, and I would kind of get the urge to give them a pop quiz on the band or something (I never did that of course, and my wife thinks I'm insane for even joking around about it), but my thought process is that they are wearing the shirt as a fashion statement and not for their love of the band (I guess there's nothing wrong with that either, which my wife also pointed out), but I'll admit that I kind of take offense to it. I'll also admit that this is completely irrational thinking, but hey-- that's how I feel.

As another example, I saw a guy the other day wearing an Opeth T-shirt, and he looked the part, so I struck up a conversation about Opeth asking him what he thought of their new album "Heritage," and he didn't even know that they had a new album. In his defense, he probably thought I was the poser talking about Opeth while wearing dress pants and a tie.

Anyway, this thread probably sounds very judgmental, and I normally don't think of myself as a judgmental person, but I confess that's my take on the whole Rock T-thing. I have no problem with it from a style stand point, but I guess I feel like you should really know the band, if you're going to wear the shirt.

The only band i have a shirt or item of clothing for that i don't know completely is Grateful Dead, but i grew up with the bearsies as a youngun so i earned their shurt.

If i buy a shirt er sumfin from a band i haven't listened to yet, i usually take the time to check them out, which is how i started listening to the Misfits and Bad Brains.

btw, just try the band's website. Shows are great too but they usually either get sold out or don't have just what i want.

I used to have a shirt by a band called Into Eternity, that I still have never listened to. I just bought the shirt because it said "Fuck Cancer" on the back for no apparent reason.

I know exactly what you mean. I only wear the shirts of my favorite bands. I don't want to be one of those folks you described above. People wear Beatles shirts in the same way they wear Coca-Cola shirts, and I find it very annoying
