Wait, we're critisizing Nirvana for supposedly selling out when Alice in Chains (Or should I say AliCe N Chainz) were originally a hair metal band until grunge became the new thing?

Popular is a relative term.

Here, opinions of them are mixed, but mostly negative.

No one gets a bad rap as much as Pearl Jam however. :(

Pisces Iscariot is actually my second fav Pumpkins album, behind Siamese Dream. Songs like Whir and Hello Kitty Kat are just as good as some of their hit singles. As for Mellon Collie disk 1 is almost flawless, but there is too much filler on disk 2 esp near the end. A single album would prob have been the better option.

It wasn't merely because they were more metal, they had more passion, power and meaning in thier songs.

Haven't heard the former, but I don't think you could possibly be more wrong about SDRE.

Which is good, I don't want you to break your track record of only liking bands I think are horrible.

AIC was by far the best and most soulfull band to ever come out of Seattle..Layne Staley was all heart and i wish he was still here...RIP Layne
