Did You Like Or Hate This Album (Deep Purple - Burn - 1973)

I personally love this album. This is my favorite Deep Purple album. It has my favorite song by Deep Purple Mistreated. Love the Dual Vocals of David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. Ritchie Blackmore's solos on this album are awesome

Its a decent album, but I don`t think it comes anywhere near the quality of the three Ian Gillan sung classics of In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head. Admittedly though its a lot better than their previous album Who Do You Think We Are.

I certainly remember Blackmore`s solos as being very good on that album and this style he continued on the Rainbow albums. My big problem with Burn is not so much the songs, but I just don`t really like David Coverdale, never have really. Burn is certainly better than Stormbringer but not as good as Come Taste the Band which of course has Tommy Bolin instead of Ritchie Blackmore.

Don't get me wrong I love Deep Purple with Ian Gillan. But I do agree with ya on Come Taste The Band. David Coverdale's Vocals have never been on the level of Ian Gillan. But I think Ritchie Blackmore is the reason I really love the album. But I'm a Guitar Player
