Bassist and Drummer wanted for cyber-band
Hi everyone!
A friend and I have started a curious project, a cyber-band. Since we are based in different countries (and continents) all our work is online. Each one records its track and then we mix it together. The result is quite interesting! We started this as a hobby and actually we're having fun with it. I doubt if we will ever profit from it, but actually its a cool way to have fun, and in any case, its much better than being home playing WoW or Counter Strike. The sound is sort of between goth and nu metal, although we're trying to do something slightly softer, we will see how it turns out. We have a demo online, if you wanna listen PM me, i'm not yet allowed to posts URLs here So here's the deal, we're looking for a bassist and a drummer, it doesnt matter where in the world you are, you just have to 1) Want to have fun and 2) be able to record yourself Anyone interested feel free to post here or PM me. Thanks! Martin |

i'd rather record everything myself really
the idea is nothing new i have already asked around if anybody wanted to add something to my tracks and i'm much better at guitar than bass, as for the drums, i'm borrowing a drum machine son |

Yeah I know its nothing new, theres even a website where people do that massively, however what I meant is that we're not taking it seriously, its mostly as a hobby and a way to have fun...
Of course its possible to record everything yourself, even if you dont play the instrument since you can easily put stuff together with software like Garageband, however its more fun when there are more people involved, I believe... Honestly I'm a total n00b at all this And about your tracks, if you link me I'll surely see if there's something I could add, as I said, I'm far from being a professional musician (I'm far from being a musician actually haha) but for fun sake... |

As someone who's done quite a bit of studio work, I can say that it's hard enough recording everyone in a seperate room, let alone on different continents. It just sounds weird. And where's the fun of it? It's not like a cyber band can go down to their local venues and put on a show. Just meet some like-minded people in real life and start a band.

this not a professional project and doing it separately, i think, makes everything more flexible... this is just imho, i imagine a "real" band should be cool as well! |

Sorry nobody has seriously responded and mostly just shot down your idea thus far. Had this been a few years ago I would have loved to join, but nowadays I'm a little busier than I used to be. I've done these before and they're great fun, and as you said you're just doing it for fun. I think people seem to be missing that point.
Good luck! |
