Yeah, if I'm not mistaken it is another term used to describe post-hardcore bulls**t like Attack Attack! Or its used by the general public to describe any metal at all that contains harsh vocals......how frustrating

it's more like stuff like Refused

the metal variant is called "screamcore", if i'm not mistaken

although black metal itself usually involves screaming

LOLPOCALYPSE you're posts remind me nothing more of a donkey's last squel before death

Your attempts at trolling remind me of the same thing.

Screamo is stuff like Orchid, pg.99, Saetia, Circle Takes the Square, Reversal of Man, etc

Howard the Duck 02-09-2012 08:04 AM

^^never heard of, or heard, any of those

Sneer 02-09-2012 08:20 AM

Yup, Refused were not screamo, they were hardcore punk/post-hardcore. Screamo has nothing to do with deathcore, metalcore etc. Putting City of Caterpillar in the same bracket as Bring Me The Horizon is obscene.

The Batlord 02-09-2012 08:33 AM

Speaking of Bring Me the Horizon, this is the only song by them I actually like. I think it's cause the song basically admits that they're just a ****ty melodic metalcore band pretending to play death metal.

I don't understand why this stuff is called hardcore. Negative Approach is hardcore... and they sound absolutely nothing like this other "hardcore".

DEP rules, you guys.

Dillenger Escape Plan songs seem to be an excuse to showcase what they can do with their instruments. Nothing I've heard by them is catchy or fun.... and everytime someone plays them for me the preceding comment is, "[t]hese guys are really technical...." which certainly doesn't bode well.

ps; what the **** is it with fans of this genre and the obsession with acronyms?
