Default Post-rock

Does anyone have any recommendations for rock/metal/whatever bands similar in style or feel to Mogwai, Godspeed you black emperor!, Explosions in the sky, Sigur Ros, etc?

Hmmm, maybe this would be more suited to the indie forum. Oh well I can always post it in both.

Massive Attack? Which albums do you mean?

I've heard Slint and Silver Mt. Zion but I'll look up some of the others.

I thought it was trip-hop. Not that I have a clear understanding of what it means to be either genre.

yes, its trp-hop, massive attack are a leading exponent of the bristol scene that started off trip-hop. what im saying is they blend this with a lot of post-rock. tear drop for example, i wouldnt necessarily say thats trip-hop, would you? the same can be said for angel and exchange among others on the album.

Mezzanine is pretty post rocky.

People should spend less time being anal about genres & open their ears

"OMG A TRIP HOP BAND CAN`T PLAY POST ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I`ve always thought M83 & Fourtet would qualify as post rock even though they`re both electronica.
