???
I think James Hetfield is a bloody awesome singer! hes heaps talented and singing while simaltaniously playing guitar unbelivable well.
whats so bad about him?

Merkaba 05-07-2005 11:04 PM

Hes boring. His voice barely varies. His softer singing is dreary. All the songs sound the same. Personal preferance but i like the actual music just the vocals kill it, very very monotonous stuff.

Maggot 05-07-2005 11:15 PM

fair

Actually, while he sings and simultaneously plays guitar, it's nothing special. He plays short, easy chords...Alot of country singers can do that;) So, lets take away the "unbelievably well" out of that statement and just put a period after "guitar"...like so:

I think James Hetfield is a bloody awesome singer! hes heaps talented and singing while simaltaniously playing guitar.

Oh, so let's also add "vocally" after "talented" so we don't get everyone confused and think that you're still trying to say he's also heaps talented at playing guitar while singing.

Gaara 05-09-2005 02:18 AM

I thought all music was supose to be emotional, since music seems to be written from emotion.

Merkaba 05-09-2005 03:22 AM

it is "supposed" to be

But not every band looks at music emotionally. many look at these two words... "record sales" and thens when things lose themselves.

TillyLovesYew 05-09-2005 03:50 AM

Listening to most Evanescence songs get to me.

Merkaba 05-10-2005 03:55 AM

She has a cool voice lol

TillyLovesYew 05-10-2005 05:59 AM

Amy Lee has the best voice in the world of rock, to me that is. She is also very beautiful!

TheBig3 05-10-2005 06:53 AM

Sting's stuff, but you'd have to listen to the arrangements. A lot of classical peices.

Zao-boy 05-10-2005 07:06 AM

hmmm... ZAO? Hells yeah!

[MERIT] 05-10-2005 07:15 AM

POD has deep lyrics

IMATOOL 05-10-2005 07:34 AM

Tool and A Perfect Circle have incredible lyrics Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs Stinkfist
Something has to change.
Un-deniable dilemma.
Boredom? not a burden
Anyone should bear.
Constant over stimulation numbs me
But I wouldn? want you
Any other way.
Just, not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I don? want it.
I just need it.
To breathe, to feel, to know I? alive.
Finger deep within the borderline.
Show me that you love me and that we belong together.
Relax, turn around and take my hand.
I can help you change
Tired moments into pleasure.
Say the word and we?l be
Well upon our way.
Blend and balance
Pain and comfort
Deep within you
Till you will not want me any other way.
But, it? not enough.
I need more.
Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I don? want it.
I just need it.
To breathe, to feel, to know I? alive.
Knuckle deep inside the borderline.
This may hurt a little but it? something you?l get used to.
Relax. slip away.
Something kinda sad about
The way that things have come to be.
Desensitized to everything.
What became of subtlety?
How can it mean anything to me
If I really don? feel anything at all?
I?l keep digging till,
I feel something.
Elbow deep inside the borderline.
Show me that you love me and that we belong together.
Shoulder deep within the borderline.
Relax. turn around and take my hand.

That is true. For me, if its a good song it doesn't need lyrics, but they can be an added bonus.

Merkaba 05-11-2005 12:34 AM

I appreciate music. The effort some bands put into being original is astounding. But to me great lyrics also make the music that little bit better. Kind of like a compliment ratehr than a bonus

SEVRINLEADER 05-11-2005 09:20 AM

I can appreciate good lyrics and deep meaning. But sometimes it feels like the writer was trying so hard to be on the next level of "emotion" that they brought out a dictionary to help with the process. Trying to be to poetic.

I don't read between the lines to often. Everything gets over analyzed as it is.
