Welp, that's the last time I try to introduce people to an interesting band. I guess people really would rather discuss Avenged Sevenfold. :(

Your thread's been up only a day. Give it time.

Yeah man, you got to give it some time.

As for the song you posted, I found the merging of genres interesting but didn't really care for the song you posted. It did pique my interest though. Care to post a few other songs by them you would recommend?

Their debut album, Butcher's Ballroom started out really strong, but I felt it kind of fizzling out towards the end as the novelty wore off. Their 2009 followup, Sing Along Songs for the Damned and Delirious was a bit more focused and put a bit more focus into the metal aspect, getting a tone very reminiscent of Meshuggah at times. They also did a lot more singing in English and toned down on the operatic moments to make it feel a bit more contemporary. It still had everything that made their debut memorable but just refined it. They have a new album coming out next month but I've yet to hear anything from it, but I also haven't really given it much attention as I'm still trying to get through my backlog of metal releases.

Well written, yeah. And I had no idea they were Swedish. It makes sense now. All the Swedish artists I listen to are weird (in a good way), quirky (like Mattias Eklundh of Freak Kitchen). Yeah, they're damn good at what they do and they've got a distinctive sound. The band Unexpect is following in those footsteps, whether they know it or not...

Definitely worth checking out:

Their new album leaked a few days ago, and frankly I think it's excellent. They get better with every release, IMO, with Guerilla Laments being my personal favourite from the album.

Mrd00d 05-01-2012 06:23 PM

Good looking out, what's it called? I could google it, but I could just question drop this here and check back later ;D because I'm off to work.

Pandora's Piñata.

I used to love these guys, haven't listened to them in a looooong time. Thanks for the heads up about the new album, I'll have to check it out.

I'm not really a fan of the vocals but otherwise I dig it! I may have to check them out.

Grabbed the new album, quite enjoyable, definitely an improvement of their first album and I'm unsure if it's better than Sing Along Songs for the Damned and Delrious (2009).

Sodacake 05-08-2012 07:38 AM

I think the vocals work very well with the music.

I really like this band. Are there any other bands like this? I especially like Justice For Saint Mary (Pandora's Pinata album).

Key 01-15-2013 04:30 PM

Seeing this thread got me into the mood to listen to Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious

Trollheart 01-15-2013 05:50 PM

Great band! Chose their album "Singalong songs" just for the name of the band, and was not disappointed. Their new one is great too, though I haven't really listened to their debut as yet: must put it on the list.

C'mon! What can you say about a band who claim their music was outlawed by the Spanish Inquisition?? :thumb:

Norg 01-16-2013 04:00 AM

i heard of this band yearrrrsssss ago never cared much for them to give them a chance
