I don't even know what to say about that... That was the most random assault on my ears ever... The second one, the Techno like sound sounds friggin awsome though. Where on earth did you hear of these guys?!
they're ok. not the kinda of music one listens to for long periods of time
not mathcore in the least. great band though. they were in an even better band called swing kids years ago. sweet music+synth keyboards+dc grind elements= grade a. if people didnt really dig it, they should check out the locusts old stuff, its much less frantic.
somebody explain exactly what mathcore is, because im not entirely sure.

^well for me anyway
mathcore is usually very jazz influence hardcore and metal. bands like dillenger escape plan come to mind |
ugh... Dillinger... ive recently started to realize how much they suck.
the actual term mathcore i find rediculous. considering bands like faraquet and don caballero are math, i cant understand how anyone could muster up the term mathcore and be serious.
because when math meets breakdowns it takes on elements on hardcore. there is nothing wrong with genre labeling, but when people start only listening to one style, than it gets lame.
hardcore has no elements of math or breakdowns in it. what are you talking about?
i feel like ive been arse raped with a wooden spoon with splinters in it.....
is that the effect i have on you?
Thats not music thats ramming a **** in one ear and out the other lol
i didnt know they bleeped out d1ck as well, thats hardly a swear word
this is music, you just dont see it as music.
pastor hears ass-raping with a splintered wooden spoon. merkaba, you hear a d!ck going in one ear and out the other. the truth is, The Locust sound like a swarm of insects. they look like a swarm of insects too. |

i found some more songs. theres a video for one, and one on a myspace for the locust. they both pwned, and both were less than a minute long.
Locust are great live. Seen them twice, you really have to pay close attention to hear what they are going for as far as the rythems theyre playing. All in all, id recommend checking them out if you get a chance, its an experiance to say the least. Last time I saw them was with Fantomas. Awesome show.

i mistyped. when mathy music and breakdowns combine the genre most people think of is mathcore (math being math obviously and core coming from hardcore which in the last 5 years has included waaay to many breakdowns) there. |

I'd imagine it involves high levels of math required to create the stuff. Odd time sig's with constant time sig shifts.

"damn it jim, i'm not a magician. and actually not even a doctor. i'm not a ****ing doctor. a cuckoo clock never gives the right time. we swim up stream for the cuckoo's dream. it's no surprise just how low some will go."
This band is for annoying, loud teenagers with A.D.D. and bad hair cuts. Perfect. I love the lyrics to almost every one of their songs. I'd see them live for the crowd. The Locust keeps me interested. |

Locust are ok, thats like all i have to say. |
Anything Jesus Can Do I Can Do Better. They're cool for an occasional listen doubt I'd ever go out and buy an album.
I loooovvveeeeeee this band. And they are not music. They are noise. Literly. They consider themselves the anti-music. I saw them with DEP a few years back. Probably the most interesting live band ever.
i do really like them.. though all i own is a few 7"s (clear red self-titled and a sick-coloured puddle shaped split with Arab on Radar)
The Locust rule...Just their brutality and noise...Awesome
Hmm . . "Maths" in music just isn't right
I bought Plague Soundscapes not long ago. They're good, but I prefer some of Justin Pearson's other bands.
The Locust
Plague Soundscapes is a tight album. I saw them live a while back and they are insane
Impossible to listen to. Talent not harnessed properly, prime example.
I personally don't enjoy them, I think they're a mess of sound, but there's a certain charming experimental quality about them that draws people in.

I like them but sometimes I find that their songs seem too busy to fully wrap my head around before they end. I definitely have to be in the kind of mood where I want to sit down and actually analyze music.
