Just listen to their first two, Iron Maiden and Killers. They're more punk influenced and they don't have Bruce Dickinson. Problem solved. Oh and don't start with Number of the Beast. It's not just that it has a ****ty song order, half the songs on there are just second rate. They didn't really find their true feet until Piece of Mind.

I love all the Di'Anno and Bruce albums. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Moonchild, and Killers will always be some of my favorite songs.

Don't flame me for saying this, but some of the Blaze songs aren't that bad. I think he does Doctor Doctor well, and I enjoy listening to Sign of the Cross. Also, Bruce's version of The Clansman on Live in Stockholm sounds amazing. I think that if he hadn't tried to use the name Iron Maiden, then I would think that his songs were okay. Nowhere close to the good Iron Maiden songs, but not bad.

I think my choice is pretty obvious.

Is it by chance, Piece of Mind?

The Number of the Beast, quite simply because its a landmark metal release. A lot on here criticize it as people often do with such revered albums, it does have a badly thought out song order at times but it is a defining metal album and when people say Maiden are the greatest metal band ever, its normally down to the fact that the basis of the Maiden sound with Dickinson was born here, so a great place to start.

not to mention the sound is still quite punk-ish which doesn't really fit Dickinson's vocals

mine? Powerslave, easily

I love the early Dickinson LP's. Or anything he does. Damn, the way he holds the notes on Hallowed Be Thy Name, about killed me. I tried doing it and didn't come close. And I never smoked! That man has a super set of lungs. I came close, but that is it.

definitely not "Number of the Beast"
