Third Eye Blind

this is my favorite band, most who know me are very suprised at this.
considering, i dress "goth" and i listen to anything f/ Marilyn Manson to The Beatles.
so maybe in that case me liking Third Eye Blind isn't such a shocker.
i love the band. they have amazing lyrics!

i love the songs:

motorcycle drive by
god of wine
background
deep inside of you
wounded
camoflauge
slow motion
jumper
hows it gonna be
palm reader
good man
crystal baller
my time in exile
red summer sun
1000 julys
narcalopesy
blinded
semi charmed kinda life
i'll never let you go

if u don't know this band check them out! if u like them rock on! and if u don't like them u r entitled to ur own opinion.

And I said no no no no no no no no no...

Jumper is the best song ever.

Jenkins can sing like a mother****er

i love them

FistfulOfSky 05-16-2005 03:48 PM

totally agree on the jenkins thing! not to mention those sweet lyrics!
luv the band. glad to kno someone else does.
peace

SEVRINLEADER 05-17-2005 11:43 PM

I used to like Third Eye Blind. Well........the first CD. After that............no. Then they decided to not do anything. Then Jenkins had to bone Vanessa......the entire band is ruined.

FistfulOfSky 05-18-2005 12:51 PM

nope. i agree that the first cd is the best. but the second one rocked. as for the third i liked it but not as much as the other two. as for vanessa wateva floats his boat. i think theres more to her than meets the eye. i think ppl judge her too quickly. maybe jenkins sees somethin we don't, something more.

peace

TheBig3 05-18-2005 01:11 PM

Jenkins needs to focus on his band rather than Vanessa's career. What a fool. He's letting his band slip away.

maryjane88 05-18-2005 03:06 PM

Love Them I Can't Deny It That Song Is The Best

FistfulOfSky 05-19-2005 12:43 PM

well if vanessa sux she needs all the help she can get, and there is no doubt she sux. and if anyone can help her its jenkins. good luck on that one though. maybe he can turn her into another Christina f/ Lacuna Coil, lol. doubt it. but if he loves her, does it matter?
and i think he has focused on the band, he just needs sometime. and besides after the last ablum, which went no where maybe he doesn't see any point anymore. would you? all ppl wanna listen to three days grace and taking back sunday and all that idiotic annoyance ppl insist is music. its not. it sux. i wouldn't blame jenkins for throwing in the towl sort of speak. ppl are too obseesed w/ their sterotype bands.

as for vanessa, good luck jenkins, hope the next cd is improved.

peace

Im so down with Third Eye Bind.

dac 12-09-2008 10:00 PM

My ultimate guilty pleasure. I saw them live last year and they put on a HELL of a show. Slow Motion is great for its lyrical content, and Motorcycle Drive By is another good song. Also, I was surprised that their new stuff wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting.

Laces Out Dan! 12-09-2008 10:01 PM

yea man, Slow Motion is wild. And from their newer stuff, Crystal Baller is probably my favourite song from em.

Janszoon 12-09-2008 10:01 PM

Not a band I've ever been particularly interested in but I have to give them props for being outspoken Billy Idol fanboys.

dac 12-09-2008 10:07 PM

My home town worships 3eb, it's our drinking music.

pianokeys 12-09-2008 11:34 PM

I love the cliche 'semi-charmed life.'
A guilty pleasure of mine also.

Ask him where he gets his weed.

Thanks. You sure know how to make fellow member feel better. :thumb:

Total guilty pleasure of mine. Stephan Jenkins can actually be a pretty clever songwriter if he puts his mind to it... their second album had some lazy songwriting on it though - but "Slow Motion" definitely hit all the right buttons as far as I am concerned.

I heard a new song by the recently, somehow they wrap KFC into the lyrics and go on to some darker concepts - it actually sounded pretty darn good.

Sonny 12-28-2008 09:57 PM

I love Third Eye Blind!
My friend Sam turned me on to them a year or two ago.

NSW 12-29-2008 12:32 PM

Slow Motion is one of my faves as well. While I've never been too impressed with them on the whole, I've been to see them in concert a couple times and they always put on an awesome show. They do a great job interacting with the audience.

scottsy 12-29-2008 09:08 PM

I haven't seen them live at all, but I am imagining it would be quite a fun show!

I liked the album that had Semi - Charmed Life on it - I always thought it was pretty solid, especially as it reached its end. There's a song that always makes me think of a failed attempt at a relationship, I can't recall the title, but ya know I should bust that album out and give it a listen tonight... hmmmm, might do that...

Anyways, I think the song had a line in it that went "and I've never been so alone, and I've never felt so alive"

I think that song really described the way I was feeling at the time. I love it when you find a song that does that!

kthedrummer 12-29-2008 09:12 PM

They should have a new album called Ursa Major sometime next year.

scottsy 12-29-2008 09:13 PM

Might be worth checking out, on the strength of the song I heard from it the other night. They're not in my serious core of bands i could never live without, but they make some good pop/rock, in my opinion...

Raust 01-02-2009 12:03 AM

I like the band, for some reason I really enjoy the song Jumper. And who can forget the upbeat semi-charmed life? Yeah there pretty good.

jenkyfats 01-15-2009 04:11 PM

i don't listen to them now, but they're so great. i was into them in high school, so when i hear their stuff it just brings back memories. all those songs listed are great. i don't know if its rock though? either way just amazing songwriters.

scottsy 01-15-2009 08:10 PM

Oh its just basically good alt - flavored rock, with some punchy lyrics - the catchiness of the band and the generally good lyrics from Stephan Jenkins make up the core of what's good about the band... and they are a considerably good band, it must be said!

Deathhawk 04-06-2011 10:16 PM

One of my favorite bands. It's a shame there third CD didn't get the exposure it deserved. (Their record label was dealing went bankrup) It was a real return to form for them.

[MERIT] 04-20-2011 09:56 PM

Nice thread bump. They were basically the soundtrack for generation X, and every teen movie made in the 1990's-2000's.

Jumper and Semi-Charmed Life are always good to listen to, regardless of the situation.

Automaticchaos 04-21-2011 03:19 PM

I loved their first two albums, but haven't really heard anything by them other than that. I gave Ursa Major a very brief listen, but wasn't that impressed
