Well the first metal band I ever heard was Rammstein. But I didn't even really comprehend what I was listening to at the time. The song was "Feuer Frei". I liked listening to it while I was pissed off.

What really got me into rock/metal is Linkin Park, saw Numb and In The End on music television and searched for more of their music/music similar to them. Too bad I can't listen to them anymore, they bore me now :(

For me to get into the harder parts of metal I started with an extreme metal band. I started my extreme metal love with Immortal. What really got me into metal was Headbangers Ball.

Black Sabbath
 
I remember listening to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath with my Dad on vinyl as a kid and although its not the best Sabbath album the title track made me want to listen to what else they had out (the first four albums anyway). After that I started listening to Deep Purple Made In Japan and then realised how much more there was.

But Black Sabbath is the band that got me into rock/metal. There's also something kinda cool about sitll hearing the crackling on the record when you go back to them!

That's actually regarded as one of the best Sabbath albums.

It is indeed but for me it just doesn't have the overall start to finish quality.

That said it's better than anything from the Dio years imo.

I think that's a great album from beginning to end. Hey the two Dio albums are just as great as well.

Yeah, I'm not as familiar with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as their earlier work, but it definitely feels like their most consistent work to me. The second half of the debut kinda sucks, the flow of the songs on Paranoid is off and hurts the momentum, Master of Reality has a couple filler songs with annoying Christian lyrics. And Dio era Sabbath is the biz.

Well I think Paranoid possibly one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded with Master of Reality, Volume 4 and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath not too far behind.
