Cool and unique riffs/licks

Sometimes you hear songs that seem boring, and then, out of nowhere comes a riff or lick so cool that it finds it's way straight into your heart and just stays there. Has that ever happened to you? Share it!

At about 1:14...

Please tell me if there's alredy a thread for this, I might have overlooked some of the search results.

 I feel old just mentioning Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple. It has to be one of the all time rock/guitar riffs.

This is better though:

Notice the similarity? :)

I could listen to this song every day for the rest of my life, especially this performance:

Exo 12-23-2012 10:58 PM

8:06 til the end of the song. It's been stuck in my head for weeks. Fantastic.

The accenting saxophone and keys are nice.

I hope you're not sick of all my Queen talk by now. There's more to come.

That riff just always gets stuck in my head.

Isbjørn 05-23-2013 12:02 PM

Even though the rest song is boring (no chorus?), the opening riff is great, yet simple. I love it.

Starting at 3:05. What a groove man.

OldManWinter 05-26-2013 10:31 AM

Not sure if any of y'all have heard of Vildhjarta or Northlane but they have some of the most unique riffs and rhythmic patterns I've ever heard.

jackhammer 05-27-2013 05:56 PM

Every single riff from 2:20 onwards. Not bad for nearly 25 years old.

jackhammer 05-27-2013 06:06 PM

2:42 onwards. Outside of Dave Lombardo, probably the finest example of drumming and riffs in the extreme Metal genre.

Stephen 05-27-2013 09:46 PM

Opening of this song is pretty awesome.

Although I guess it's not Rock & Metal? :o:

ThatBlueFluffyDude 05-28-2013 12:31 PM

This song was brilliant when I first heard it, still awesome!

Isbjørn 05-28-2013 01:03 PM

The Hives are pretty good. They're bringing raw rock 'n' roll back into the music world, and they're doing their job well.

I don't care if everyone on this forum has heard it already, the main riff is how a rock riff should sound.

I feel like The Hives are very Under rated, they're absolutely brilliant live and their songs are a breathe of catchy fresh air compared to many things being played around at the moment

LOLPOCALYPSE 05-28-2013 07:41 PM

I've always really liked the opening riff in this song

I grabbed my bass the other night and played along with this. I cannot, for the life of me, get this riff outa my head now:
