In my 20's & a problem: I LOVE classic rock, I just don't know where to discover more

I don't mean to suggest that I don't know where to find classic rock music, I just don't know where to look in terms of the classic rock that I like. Basically I'm trying to create a playlist of artists/songs but I can't quite put my finger on what my preference is or even how to search or what artists I should start listening to.

So here are a few of my favorite bands:
- Everything by Queen/Freddie Mercury (I'm in love with his voice)
- Lots of songs by Whitesnake (like 'Too many tears' or 'Here I go again')
- Lots of songs by Journey (Steve Perry)

Some songs I always like listening to:
- Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me
- Creedence Clearwater Revival - Have You Ever Seen The Rain
- Bryan Adams - Heaven
- John Mellencamp - Jack and Diane
- Billy Joel - Piano Man/We Didn't start the fire
- Aerosmith - Jaded
- kansas - carry on my wayward son
- Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm amazed
- Foreigner - I Want to know what love is

The reason I posted those is because maybe you guys (who are 1000x more knowledgeable) will be able to get an idea of what I might like or bands I should look into. Basically after reading the list, is there anything to comes to mind that makes you think "Oh, I think this guy will like ____ or ____".

In any case I appreciate the help! Thank you so much!

If you're a fan of early Queen, (first four albums) then you'd likely enjoy some stuff with likely interesting song structure. I'd say you'd dig "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull, "A Quick One (While He's Away)" by The Who, and maybe "Brave New World" by Iron Maiden.

Based on your other selections, I'd recommend:

"Renegade," and "The Grand Illusion" by Styx
"The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" by Genesis
"I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)" by Kenny Loggins
"I Don't Believe In Love" by Queensryche
"Only Dreaming Now" by The Beau Brummels
"I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night" by The Electric Prunes

And definitely check out:
Hawkwind
Rush
King Crimson
Blue Oyster Cult
Fairport Convention
Soft Machine
Gong
Henry Cow
Moby Grape
Gentle Giant
Focus
Traffic
Yes
Country Joe and the Fish
The Mamas and the Papas
The Zombies
Strawberry Alarm Clock
Donovan...

the list goes on.

Oh man! Where to start? Classic rock, eh? Well, based in your love of Journey I'd suggest other AOR acts such as
Foreigner
Toto
Night Ranger
Bon Jovi
Bad English
Asia
FM
Europe
Boston

Then there are the classics:
Rainbow
Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple
Iron Maiden
Dio
Springsteen
Neil Young
Bowie
Fleetwood Mac
Lizzy

and for a little more relaxed perhaps try
Alan Parsons Project
Eagles
Gerry Rafferty
Bob Seger

Just so many. You probably need to tailor your interests a little because Classic Rock covers a huge spectrum of artists, however of course there's nothing wrong with expanding beyond that, as there is a massive amount of music outside of CR. What about progressive rock? Marillion, Genesis, Rush, Arena, Yes, ELP etc. Or Pomp Rock? Magnum, Kansas, Styx etc?

Hope that helps...

Edit: seek ye out a wise oracle who goes by the name of "Unknown Soldier", who is a total guru on hard rock AOR and classic rock, and also "Anteater", who is another swami. You'll find their journals in the, er, journal section, where if you read through them you will probably find plenty of suggestions. But try talking to them also (leave a comment or send a PM): people are always ready to spread their knowledge and love of bands and to help out.
