I like "These Hearts" and "Close Your Eyes". Not many people know them. "Love and Death" is a pretty good band, too.

Sweet sauce!!! I'm really glad that i stumbled across this thread, Back when i had all the free time in the world, when i wasnt at work. I was addicted to going to Venues, going to local shows and what not. Im utterly in love with these bands and i always suggest them to everyone i meet (that is if we start discussing music). These are listed from my number one to not so much my number one.

Calabrese -
A Phoenix Arizona local band that has made it pretty big. They are a horror rock based group of three brothers. They play in local venues and travel across the states. They have a few cds out and their sound has changed, but in my opinion its for the good.

Three Bad Jacks -
Three Bad Jacks i believe came from California (but i maybe wrong). They are a Rockabilly band with a pretty unique sound to themselves.

Tiger Army-
A pretty big rockabilly group, im sure theres some of you here that have heard of them their not as small as they use to be.

Another fav horror rock group. I dont know much about them. sorry :p just love em.

lawl. I don't know why people peacock about enjoying unpopular bands, it's not a big deal and it doesn't reveal any amazing personal attributes. It takes no special skill or education to put an album on and enjoy it, and finding out about music is just a matter of having an internet connection and enough free time to devote to finding these bands.

Just because you talk about more underground or obscure music doesn't necessarily mean you're a hipster or that you're bragging about it. Quite a few times I've talked about underground bands/artists not to seem cool or anything, but to give some much needed exposure to these amazing bands and also to give the person I'm talking to something new to listen to.

I had the pleasure of seeing these guy's live at Clicks Billiards in Baton Rouge a few weeks back. If looking for something a little "Progressive" .. then "Distant Lights" are worth a listen.

The bassist Sam Marshall is absolutely outstanding.

I like their latest release "Tightrope" is nice. And single "Suffocating" shows their best in vocal quality.
