Anyone like them?

i think they alright too btw (i always forget to put my opinions in the original post dammit)... ive got two of their albums but they were both presents so meh....

kindof a strange name for a band too. i am kinda confused as to what it means.

i dont think it really means anything.. just one of those things that comes up i think....

My ex GF who was from Australia (she was a nanny here for a year) went to college with the band. Powerfinger entered a battle of the bands and the original singer, his name escapes me, could not make it since he had to study for exams. So, Bernie asked if he could sing in the battle of the bands since the real singer was not going to, he agreed and the rest is history. Powerfinger won the battle of the bands and told the judges that Fanning was not the real singer but just a fill in, and the judges ( I think it was triple J) said they would not get the contract since the band that won is the band the label wanted. So the original singer got screwed over. He wrote the first album but did not copywrite any of the songs thus got ****ed over. That is why if you notice the first album is totally different from all their other albums.

ooh, my australian friend gave me a copy of their CD, i like them, they're quite good.

Their album odessy #9 is quite good, as is their first album, if you can find that anywhere.

odessey #5 (yes its 5) is quite poppish but their latest album, vulture street, is more rock/bluesy so it depends what you prefer

oddessey #5 is the album, draven just got mixed up :). they are indeed from australia, brisbane specifically. vulture street is their latest new album and it was only released about a year ago maybe a bit more, but they've also released a best of entitled fingerprints. oddessey #5 was the album before vulture street.
