I've searched, and searched, and searched, but no actual thread on the band seems to exist. I see threads about their albums, but oddly enough not the band. They just came out with a new album, and listening to "Let The Day Begin" got me really excited to listen to the entire thing. I'm downloading as I type, and they're coming to DC, and hopefully I'll be able to get a ride there. What's your favorite album/period? Was seeing Peter in DiG! one of the oddest things in existence?

Heard a few songs by them some time ago. Nothing too memorable. I think as an artist, they'll pass by pretty soon.

They've been around for well over a decade, and still have a pretty sizable following. They may not be as prolific (a record has come out every 2-3 years, so I guess they're somewhat) or original as a band Radiohead, but they managed to stay relevant since 1998.

I roadied for them in Leeds and Manchester in 2000 or 2001 they did an NME tour with Andrew WK, The Coral, and Lost Prophets ... On the night they were average but they were very good lads and some of their singles were brilliant ... over 10 years later I'm still waiting for them to make that really great album ... for me they are a band that's always had potential but never quite delivered

I spent a good amount of time listening to Take Them On, On Your Own a few years ago but then seem to have forgotten about them, I'm glad for the reminder. And I'm stoked to hear they have a new album! Perfect timing, Record Store Day coming up and all.

I like 'Let The Day Begin', haven't listened to their new album yet but it's on my must hear list. I only have their debut B.R.M.C. and it's a very enjoyable album with some nice dark, psychedelic vibes. They got a lot of media attention on these shores around a decade ago when they released their debut and the song 'Whatever Happened To My Rock and Roll' got a bit of radio play. They were initially lumped in with the garage-rock revival even though they sound way different from the likes of The Strokes.

Yeah, I listened to them a little back then and saw them live once as well. I thought they decent but honestly I had kind of forgotten about them.

I have an album of their's somewhere, I use to think the song Rifles was awesome, it had almost an echoee Manchester feel to it.

Did they ever release anymore songs like that? I remember the rest of the album being pretty much standard rock.

I used to love this band. I loved their debut album. Take Them On got played a lot, Howl was pretty cool and I also really liked Baby 81. They used to do retro psychedelic very, very well in my opinion.

I saw them live a few times inbetween probably 2001 and 2005. They were much louder than I had thought they were gonna be, especially the first time I saw them. The tone of the debut record seems considerably less harsh than it seems it could have easily been, as if it were lost somewhat in the haziness of it. Intentionally, I'm sure. So when they were much, much louder live it kind of took me by surprise a little. It was a great show.

Saying that, that didn't stop me once going to see them at a festival and, after a couple of days of heavy drinking and not a lot of sleeping, lay down inside the tent, towards the back, while waiting for them to come on and woke up probably about 5 or 6 tracks into their set, with a lot less money in my pocket and no cigarettes.

I don't think theres a lot to their latter material to really convince those who havent heard them for a while to check it all out. The instrumental The Effects of 333 record was painfully boring, Beat the Devils Tattoo was better but still didn't leave much of an impression on me, and this years Specter at the Feast was a load of ****.
