Do you mean who voted for him, or who is he? You can see who voted for who at the top.

Up there ^^

EDIT: Hmm, or can you? Usually can.

Anyway, i voted for Entwhistle.

here are some choice clips.

YouTube - Squarepusher - The Culture Show Bass Solo - live on 'the culture show', low visual quality but whatever.

YouTube - Squarepusher - My Sound - 'my sound' from the 'music is a rotted one note' album, fantastic track.

YouTube - Squarepusher - Delta-V live @ melkweg 28/11/2008 - again horrible visual quality but you get the gitst. track is called 'delta-v' from his last album 'just a souvenir'.

while he's not technically a 'rock' bassist, if you don't think that last clip rocks even just a little then you're either dead or far too narrow minded to bother ever conversing with again hahaha.

Video 1: a bunch of noise.

Video 2: some nice, relaxing, elevator music.

Video 3: very cool. Of course, it sounds very Les Claypool-ish.

to not like it is one thing, to call it noise has me writing you off as an idiot troll.

I'm an idiot troll because I called it noise?

mr dave 07-30-2009 11:52 PM

well... you make one liners throughout this thread, then call a clearly melodic piece 'noise'. what else am i supposed to think? gee, good thing i went out of my way to put together a half decent reply so it can be written off with more one liners?

anyway, getting back to the topic at hand, on a personal level it's all about flea in this competition, the chili peppers moved me far more than any other band i've ever heard. the who is just another really good classic rock act to my ears.

I listened to the videos you put together and gave you an honest opinion?

For the record, I did in fact say I enjoyed the third video. I wish said musician would stick to that style, but hey, different strokes.

I feel exactly the same way, obviously. Flea is one of my favorite musicians. I just like his style and the genre of music he has played in much more than Entwisle, who I have much respect for...

WeeLittleHobbit 07-31-2009 12:23 AM

Ha! Broke the tie! Entwistle takes it for me.

Dude your pole was untied so I tied it for ya.

sorry i guess it's just misinterpretation. the use of the term 'noise' threw me off i guess. a melodic solo piece might be boring or cheesy or wank-tastic but so long as there's still some harmony and melody present i can't call it 'noise'. especially compared to some of the actual noise tracks out there.

on the plus side, it seems we can both definitely agree on flea (although i prefer freaky styley over the self titled :p: )
