Norwegian Black Metal Anyone... (punk, iPod, vocalist, quote, performances)

Firstly i know there are forums elsewhere dedicated to this kind of metal...but since nobody else has posted a thread about Black Metal 'the most extreme' kind of metal you can get,and 'most' being on a very obscure underground market...

What i would love to know is firstly your thoughts on Norse Black Metal music in general, ie,the sound the scene etc,and what bands you know of or like such as : Darkthrone,Immortal,Satyricon,Carpathian Forest,1349,Aura Noir,Gorgoroth and so on.............

Lords of Chaos, a book about the "scene", is a rather good book. I enjoyed it immensely, even though I'd never listened to anything by any of the bands listed in it.

Black Metal isn't limited to Norway.
