Default Have you heard the new Within Temptation album Hydra?

I've been a big fan of WT for many years however their new release Hydra has left me very disappointed. First of all there's blatant profanity from a guest rapper who shouldn't even be allowed to attempt to sing any symphonic metal song of any kind for any artist. Then the material isn't really what I would call symphonic metal but rather pop rock. I couldn't even listen to the entire album and had to break away from it. I instead listened to their previous release The Unforgiving to remind myself of how they used to sound.

I don't know what they were thinking when they came up with this release but imho they need to back away from it most ricky tick and go back in the other direction.

I honestly didn't think it was that bad and for you to go back to their last album and feel like it's far superior has me scratching my head because they have a very similar sound. The only difference with this new album is they decided to feature a rapper on one of their tracks but oh no the rap world and the rock world can't mix so it's the end of the world.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad of an album. I only listened to it once but I would listen to it again when I'm ready for it.

My favorite tracks are the singles though. The one with Howard Jones as a feature and the one with Tarja hopping on the track. I also love the last track of the album with Dave Pirner even though I don't know who that is. I have to look him up.

Yeah, but this is still their singer. And since I don't like them anyway I still get what I need from them.

Yep the album is not so bad! What is the problem in featuring a rapper, it's very popular move lately.
