Alright, so this guy makes his own heavy metal music himself. He plays the guitar (really well) and bass guitar for all of his songs, and uses drum machines and occasionally heavy synths or sometimes acoustical instruments for his songs. 90% of his music is instrumental but there are at least some albums with lyrics.
His songs are basically background heavy metal music, if that makes any sense. There's no guitar solos or anything, it's just him playing guitar, drum machines, other instruments, and, rarely, vocals.

Most of Marc Pullen's music has a dark sound to it, mixed with aggression and rage. On his web site he reflects how his music relates to him saying, "I'm not necessarily an angry or depressed person (although I am intense), it's more that the music I write is something that stirs up powerful emotions." Pullen has been making music for about 21 years now and can play a wide variety of instruments. Some of his favorites include the electric guitar, classical/nylon string guitar, electric bass, dulcimer, banjo, violin and the hammered dulcimer.

His discography is MASSIVE and I only recently started to download and listen to it. His albums cover a pretty wide range of heavy metal genres.

My favorite album by him (by far) is Sauer Anger, which is obviously a play on Metallica's St. Anger, don't worry though, it sounds only slightly similar to it (and it doesn't have vocals, so that's a plus).

There's plenty of different material though, Random Thoughts and Thick are both entirely (doom metal?? I'm not sure about the genre, it's the hardcore variance that I can't stand though and are the only two albums I know of with lyrics. I have nothing good to say about either of these because I can't stand listening to them because of the material.

Catherine is one of the albums where he uses acoustical instruments throughout the album.

Delicate Balance is mostly industrial with a lot of synthesizers.


A word of warning about some of his albums though, he made a few specifically for use in video games (which is how I discovered him), and as such many of the tracks are designed to be looped, and may be very long albums with songs that can get old at times.

Some of my favorite songs by him are "Demons," "Misfortune," "Lagged and Tagged," and "Set Free," though there's many more I love to listen to.
