Every time somebody tries to get something requiring serious participation started these days--such as Metal Wars--it often seems doomed to failure, so let's try something more bite-size. I'll post two metal songs at least vaguely related (both death metal/thrash metal/black metal/etc), and we do a quick vote on which is the best, preferably with a quick blurb on why you think one song is better than the other. Best three out of five, and whoever casts the winning vote posts a new song of the same basic genre to put up against the winner (Oh, and post the score of the battle when you vote.) After a week, or a couple days, or however long I feel, we change the theme. All I ask is that people don't hold off on voting just cause they want to post the next song. That would be douchey, since I'm trying to keep this moving as swiftly as possible.

And keep in mind I said vaguely related. Posting early Bathory against Blut Aus Nord might be a stretch, but I'll allow it. Don't want this to get boring after all.

I've gotta go with Gutted. I'm normally more about the atmospheric death/doom, and Fleshcrawl is certainly the ****, but Gutted is just sooooo good at what they do that they manage to overcome my normal fetish.

Definitely the Gutted track. I particularly like the spoken part toward the end. Fleshcrawl was kind of a slog to sit through honestly, though I did like some of the grindy drumming.
