Satan's Satyrs
Damn. I don't know how I slept on this band for as long as I've managed to. They released their debut in 2012, Wild Beyond Belief!, and man is it a fun little album. I'm not sure where I would place this music in terms of a genre. It's punk sounding, its heavy/doom metal sounding, its pretty fun. I'm in the process of checking out the new album from this year, Die Screaming. I must note the first album sounds like it might have been recorded in a box, but I'm okay with that, I have no idea about the second album, though. |
Really cool!

The new album has a bit of a different vocal approach; A more "clean" style, and while its okay, its not yet grown on me. I'm a bigger fan of the debut, personally. Still though the new album is worth a listen, and musically is probably the better of the two. The vocals are really getting on my nerves though.

I would probably hate this but you gotta love the name!

^Haha, yeah. I don't buy into the whole "Satan" thing, and I think its overused but generally I don't let it ruin the music for me. And as you said I guess in many ways its actually pretty funny.
As for not being a fan, yeah, I didn't know how many people here would like this type of stuff. I would post a lot more band threads, but I don't know what people like, and if we're allowed to post a lot of band threads, so I generally don't post many. |
You can post band threads as long as they're not already there, but generally I think people prefer to discuss the perhaps more esoterical side of things than which band is best, or worst. New bands are always welcome though.
Sidenote: wouldn't it be funny if these guys were instead called Santa's Satyrs? ;) |

Haha, maybe there will be a parody band one day! |
That one track sounds pretty goddamn fantastic to me! I'm definitely checking these guys out. Thanks for posting this. :)

^Glad you liked it! Its really a pretty fun project. The bassist, Claythanas, is also in Electric Wizard.
