Heh.
He did just review a grindcore album, though, so maybe there's hope for him yet.

If he's going to be force fed Gnaw You Tongues, Sarcofágo should be taken as an appetizer.

Accidentally. And I'd like to think that after Gnaw Their Tongues, normal extreme metal is going to start sounding a lot better to him.

And what do think of GTT? And please say it in as vague and threatening a way as possible so as to further scare Trollheart but without actually giving him any idea what to expect.

This x1000. A virgin Sarcofágo listener reviewing an album sounds very entertaining.

Again, sorry but Brazil has been done. I'm now looking for Spanish bands. And as I said, I'm trying to cover as many different subgenres as I can, though sometimes I just take pot luck, something off someone's top list or something suggested by EM

In fairness, no matter how bad the album I always see it through to the end. With the exception of one of Jansz's grindcores, that had a 23 minute last track. I skipped that. :shycouch: I may be a girl, but I'm a girl with a sense of honour and commitment. If I say I'll do something, I do it.

None of the grindcore albums on my list have a 23 minute track on them. I think the only thing on my list with a track that length is the very spacey/proggy second to last track on the Ufomammut album. Which is doom metal and which, if anything, I would have thought would be kind of up your alley with its largely mellow progishness.

Not to seem like I need my Geritol (or Centrum Silver for the young-uns) but, where would that review be?

NM Found it.

Sorry man, you're right. I've jsut had too much grindcore, that's my problem. It is the Ufowotsit one; just 23 minutes of that was too long for me. My thoughts soon.

Have you listened to the maudlin of the Well album on my list before now? I'm interested in seeing what you think.

And I just realized most of my albums are pretty long, sorry about that.

Sorry Mondo, yours is the last top ten I'll be listening to so no, I haven't heard it yet. Should be taking a listen next week if all goes to plan.

Metal Month II: Day Three

We kick off today with the first of several albums filed under "The Metal that made Me", with MSG by the Michael Schenker Group, then it's back to Brazil to feature the kings of South American Metal, Sepultura. Janszoon's is the first Members' Top Ten to get posted and I look at the first three albums in his, with Lykathea Aflame, Gridlink and Shining, then relax a bit with "A lighter look at the dark side", and some Metal albums that will never be made.

More tomorrow, with a return to our Featured Artiste, Slayer, and some more new albums as well as more of your suggestions in "Don't listen to that --- listen to this!"

Metal Month II: Day Four

Back we go to our Featured Artiste, to sample the delights of Slayer's second album, "Hell awaits", while in the Members' Top Ten lists we're running the second third of Janszoon's , with contributions from Electric Wizard, Faith No More, High on Fire and one I couldn't find from Psychofagist. We also have new "Freshly Forged" albums from Desert Lord and Battleroar, as well as another member-recommended album, this time from Plankton as I listen to and review Cavalera Conspiracy's "Inflikted".

Tomorrow we're back in Brazil and also opening The Batlord's Torture Chamber (enter ye who dare), as well as a few other surprises.
