Squeeze anyone?

I wasn't sure where to put this.. I know most people my age don't even know this band but my dad was a huge fan so I grew up listening to them. Much fun, much eargasm.

My favorite song by them:

Squeeze - Take Me I'm Yours

They were one of the best and most popular new-wave bands in the UK in the late 1970s and early 1980s and everybody into music at that time in the UK would know them, as their sound was so distinctive. After that they gradually quickly faded and became less interesting. I always got the impression that they were never that big outside the UK anyway.

First heard them here on plug. Liked the songs quite a bit but haven't picked anything by them up yet.

I have some pretty good memories of drinking my mom's vodka and lip synching retardedly to Squeeze. I blame Reality Bites.

I only know a couple of their songs, but I think "Tempted" is like the blueprint for how to write the perfect pop song.

Was never a massive fan but Difford and Tilbrook wrote some good lyrics. For me this was by far their best song.Tells a great story that sadly is still the same today. Had this on purple vinyl..

when i was near the end of school in 1991 a few of us ran a monthly get together/disco which we named after the squeeze track "slap and tickle"

pulling muscles from a shell and cool for cats were big hits when we played them.

They were fairly popular here in the states. Mostly the album East Side Story.

I'm only 21 but grew up listening to this kind of music. They've got some really great songs, my personal favourites being Up The Junction, Tempted and Another Nail For My Heart. I have a soft spot for this era.
