All permalinks are correct and the format of the titles are uniform according to Justin's list, so he can just copy and past this to his OP without having to worry about fixing anything. Will delete this post once he's updated.

Don't mention it. I kind of like busy work for some reason.

More updates for my Brosef the Josef.

89. Exodus - Bonded by Blood (1985)
90. Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines (2002)
91. Agalloch - The Mantle (2002)
92. Karl Sanders - Saurian Meditation/Saurian Exorcisms (2004/2009)

Also, I was kind of dubious about adding my last entry, as those albums have **** all to do with metal, except the fact that they were recorded by a guy in a metal band and are conceptually linked to that band in a way that other metal musicians' side projects generally aren't. I could have put them in the general 1001 Albums thread, but I just figured they were relevant to metal, so I'd put them here. Is that an OK precedent to add non-metal albums when they are legitimately linked to metal?

You said it yourself. I listened to those tracks, and there clearly not even close to metal. Although they still sound pretty cool. To be fair though, you should be asking Trollheart, as it's his thread. I just add the links, so it doesn't bother me. I'll put them on, unless TH says otherwise. And thanks once again for the help. I prefer to wait till there is a sizable amount to add, and then do it. But I probably should keep on it regularly.

Like I said, if you listen to Nile, while they're a death metal band to the core, those Karl Sanders albums are merely an extension of the Egyptian interludes and atmospheric touches of that band. Plenty of metal musicians have side projects that have nothing to do with their metal music, but both of Karl's solo albums are sort of like if RZA from Wu-Tang released an album consisting entirely of kung fu movie samples; might not be hip hop, but its relevance to the genre would make it appropriate in a 1001 Hip Hop Albums thread IMO.

I can certainly take that entry and put it in the 1001 Albums thread, but I just thought that it would be more relevant to the metal thread. The former thread seems to be dominated by indie kids, and I imagine they might not be as interested in checking out the side project of a death metal musician.

Bit of a long song to dedicate your time to, but hopefully this illustrates what I'm getting at.

P.S. That's also totally not a sneaky way to get you interested in the death metal battle of my Metal Album Survivor thread since that album is on the list. Perish the thought.

Wow, this Is one Hellva thread ! I even seen a good number of albums I haven't heard already ( no where near through ) and I have about 4,000 CDs , vinly etc in my collection probably three thousand of which are metal. I agree with most every review of every abum I've heard so far in this thread.

Anyway, you guys really know how to throw a party

I will be revisiting this thread over and over.....

I love Alice in Chains, especially the album Dirt, but on a Metal albums list your gonna put that above Dio's Holy Diver???? And Paranoid not in top 100?

It's not supposed to be in any order. First come, first serve, whatever album you wanna do.

No Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss? Filosofem? Dissection - Storm of The Light's Bane? King Diamond - Abigail?

I'd be very upset had i died not having listened to these classics lol.

monotrekker 07-27-2015 12:08 PM
