Album Listening Club for the Metal Survivor Thread
This may very well be a futile venture, but I'm gonna give it a shot. There are a lot of categories and albums in the Metal Album Survivor thread, many of which are relatively obscure. Metal n00bs like Justin, Wpnfire, and Briks may very well be left out of the avant garde metal and folk metal battles simply because they haven't heard any of the albums, and maybe some people just need to brush up, so hopefully an album club dedicated to listening to some of those albums will at the very least get them interested in participating.
So, I'll pick an album each week, or week and a half, or two weeks, or whatever is realistic and dedicate it to an album that is more obscure. Then we discuss. I probably won't be doing anything from black metal or grindcore or any of the bigger genres, as they will hopefully take care of themselves. Anyone is welcome to participate, but this is mainly targeted toward the uninitiated. First up is Nokturnal Mortum's Voice of Steel. And here's the full list of album battles as they currently stand. They're still subject to change, but I'll make sure that any album used in this thread will be on one of the finalized lists. Spoiler for Future Battles:

This thread weighs about a hundred tons. That's a lot of Metal.

And the more albums, the longer the Metal Album Survivor thread continues, and the more chance it wins Thread of the Year. Crap. I've said too much. |
A lot of these albums are new to me, so it's going to take time for me to vote. I'm already too late for death metal, but I'll state my opinion for fun and no votes.

Don't trust Bat, he tried to make Death no longer involved in the battle.

I just have no idea why so many people dig that album. It's alright, but there're so many better ones.

Lol. Don't know who to side with. I have been very busy lately for the past half year with work, but recently I got laid off and my time is back.

Don't know how many of these I've already missed but even the glam metal list ( not really a fan generally ) is a good one. Hope to take part in more of them.

Holy ****, I just did some math. Not counting the two battles already done, and the current one, there are twenty-one still to go. Two days for each round, times ten albums each, times twenty-one battles = 420 days. That's funny as ****, but still, god damn this is gonna be a longass thread. It is what it is I guess cause I'm not about to cut corners and leave out sub-genres that deserve their shot. And then there's still the final battle after all the other ones are done to decide the ultimate winner. 24 albums with two days for each round adds another 48 days. God damn. |

And I already got all those album links, which is a pain in the ass, unless of course you want to find all the Youtube vid links to all ten of those black metal albums? |
Nah, I wouldn't want you to have to put any work into one of your threads. Carry on.

Why'd you even bother if it's a pain in the ass?

You can listen to metal and tap your screen repeatedly while you do it if you want.
